Sports and Games

There goes a proverb- "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Games and Sports are not only important for the success of studios but they are important for success in every walks of our lives.

In ancient Greece they formed it a principal part of their education. Sports became a prominent part of Greek culture and with it started the Olympic Games which are held after every four years and sportsmen from all over the world participate in it.

Sports and games are an excellent means of spending one's leisure. Some lessons cannot be taught in classrooms and they can only be learnt on the fields. Sports develop a sportsman spirit and help us to accept our defeat gracefully. Now a days, sports and games are emerging as lucrative career options. Every child cannot become an engineer or a doctor. Each one has his own strength. The child who cannot fair well in exams may do wonders on the field.

For sports fan, sports are the epitome of hard work and dedication. To get to the pinnacle of their sport, Even the most naturally gifted athletes have to give it their all. After all, Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

SPEECH / DECLAMATION:

 DECLINING SEX RATIO IN INDIA

What wrong did i do- To meet my death?
Even before I could take my first breath.
To be murdered by my own beloved mother,
Except for me being a girl child and not the other.

This is the whimper- A silent cry that we can hear from every that womb which is a carrier of a burden- A Female Child.

Yes, Friends, Atrocities against women in various forms have been an integral part of the civilization since ages. However, India has unabashedly been home to some of the most barbaric acts against the "gentler" breed of humanity, starting from dowry deaths and sati, going up to female infanticide and foeticide.

In the late eighteenth century, A significantly abnormal sex ratio of 940 females against 1000 males prompted the British to pass the infanticide act in 1870, Making it illegal. How disheartening it is that the census of 2011 showed this ratio as 914 to 1000. And it is so skewed in some states that men can't even find brides. I would like to ask a very simple question to all my dear friends present here. If all the girls are eliminated from the society, Would you marry your brother? Definitely Not!

What are the reasons behind such disaffection for daughters? Well, The reasons are all socio-economic: The belief that son extends the family lineage, enlarges the family tree, provides protection, safety and security to the family and according to many, A man cannot attain moksha unless he has a son to light his funeral pyre. In India where women are worshiped as goddesses, they face the most brutal form of killing.They are murdered even before they have the opportunity to be born. The justification given is- why spend 5 lakhs later when one can get rid of the problem before it arises just in five hundred. How heartless and shameful it is that mothers are encouraged to abort their female fetuses in order to save the future cost of dowry? Thanks to technological advancements. Today sex determination clinics have reached the remotest of villages unchecked, adding fuel to the already existing fire of female foeticide and thus, aggravating the menace.

 In societies with high preference for sons, the adoption of a small family norm often leads to couples stopping child bearing as soon as they beget one or two male children.

However, The implications are very tragic to contemplate. The insensitivity of this issue has reached its zenith and the parents do not hesitate to throw away their newly born daughters in jungles, dustbins, riversides, railway tracks implying that there may be many more cases which do not come into notice even.

In the low sex ratio areas, Inhuman practices are common like polyandry, gang rape, dowry murders etc. Moreover, Repeated abortions cause adverse effects on the health of women. They also face the mental trauma as they are blamed for their inability to produce sons.

A series of govt. circulars banned sex determination tests by acts and laws such as MTP 1971, PNDT act 1994 etc etc. But they are merely pieces of paper until they're strictly enforced. The objects of the law gets defeated due to gap in the law and lack of proper implementation. This apathetic attitude of administration couple with the inefficient legislative implementation further adds to the woes of the girl child in India, facing discrimination in their very right to live. Save our daughters from their journey from womb to tomb, or we shall land into a "no girl zone".

My friends, What is required is an attitudinal change. One must understand that inspiring acceptance, reconciliation and respect for the girl child in India is not just the responsibility of the political class but each one of us is a partner in this cause and it is our collective responsibility to raise awareness towards this silent emergency.

I would like to leave you with a story. A little girl was holding two apples. Her father came in and asked his little daughter with a smile:" My sweetie, could you give your Dad one of your two apples?". The girl looked up at her Dad for some seconds, then suddenly she took a quick bite on one apple and then quickly on the other. He tried hard not to reveal his disappointment. Then the little girl handed one of her bitten apples to her Dad, and said," Dad, here you are.This is the sweeter one."such is the love of daughter just give her a chance to prove her worth.

 Keep Promises

A vital gentleman's quality,
other than sympathy or having pity.
"keep promises" is a golden rule,
whether at home or at school.
whether small or a big one,
whether you've miles to run.
but once said, you must keep,
then only sweet fruits you would reap.
it's necessary for a relationship to exist,
please understand the poem's gist,
always keep the promise you've done.
never break the trust of someone,
Ramayana also said the same.
One should have the clear aim,
sacrifice life but not the promise.
never cheat anyone to have bliss,
Once it's broken, it's hard to trust.
therefore keeping your word is must,

Break
When you are tired,
from daily chores.
the hectic routine,
makes you bored.

I am necessary to take,
whether for coffee,lunch or tea.
i am your dear break,
which always sets you free.

Free from dull hours,
a short joyful pause
rest in mind for intellectuals
and for speakers,rest in jaws

you must take me
or your day'll become tedious
but it should be short please
if you want to be a genius

Stop Littering

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

All rivers are held sacred too,

Why dirty them in ways?

All lands need irrigation due,

To raise crops with sun's rays.

The filth in holy rivers found

Defies all cleaning modes;

Carcasses, corpses, urns abound,

Whose stench, the water loads.

When lanes with garbage littered stare,

With civic sense all gone,

Made nature calls in open air,

Diseases new are born.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

The air we breathe be better clean,

And smoke and smog be less;

And public places must be green,

And wear a beauteous dress.

Keep houses, neighborhoods too neat,

Keep tidying all the time;

Like separating chaff from wheat,

Do this in every clime.

Effluents should not rivers reach,

Cause harm to fishery;

Let clean be every road and beach,

Life shouldn't be misery.

Yet, cleanse your hearts and minds and souls,

Avoiding heinous sins;

Renew your aims, ambitions, goals,

Keep clean, with common-sense.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

I will keep my cupboard clean,

With every book in place.

And spend hours fifteen,

To return the nation’s grace.

I will neither spit on streets,

And neither I will tolerate.

I’ll judge cleansed as sweet,

And unclean I’ll hate.

I will maintain hygiene,

By bathing routinely.

My clothes would be clean,

And nails trimmed neatly.

It’s time to wake up,

And change unclean habit.

Better late than never,

Let’s save our planet.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

Implement bio-lavatory,

And eradicate manual scavenging.

Maintain pure sanity,

The task is challenging.

Priyanka left her marital house,

Over absence of toilet.

“Sanity more vital than spouse”,

And she does not regret.

Mind poor sanitation!

As it can become deadly.

It causes anemia, malnutrition,

Directly or indirectly.

Always wash hands,

Before and after use.

A need to understand,

With no excuse.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

Use fly traps and cover foodstuff,

Stay away from illness.

This is surely enough,

To make our nation bless.

Plastic bags are ,

Littering the streets.

Clogging up the oceans,

Polluting the beach.

Plastic bags are ,

Blighting the land.

And that’s why I think ,

They should be banned.

Do not use,

Plastic bags any more.

Recycle, reuse, and reduce,

And do not pay for.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

They should have never been made,

They ruined Mother Nature.

They take 1000 years to degrade,

The threat is becoming greater.

Small actions, by all ages,

Soon adds up to big changes.

In all the life stages,

Plastic problem one faces.

Next time you go to the shop,

If you’re offered a plastic bag just stop.

Think of where it might end up,

Inside the tummy of cow, seal or pup.

The school cleanliness made us charm,

But the dirtiness made us alarm.

Whenever there is dirt we go clean it,

And we clean it we all mean it.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

Our school is now spick and span,

Even the toilets, buses and those vans.

Students, Teachers helpers have cleaned

All the school as I dreamed...

Be clean, be civilized,

Do your bit for clean nation.

Value of cleanliness let’s realize,

In home, schools and railway stations.

To clean entire environment

World citizens should try;

Polluted earth and firmament

Will make all one day cry!

 Water World

As a blessing god gave us water,
like a lovely new-born daughter.
water is sweet water is sour,
like a new bloomed rose flower.

then human began to use,
the use became over use.
then it transformed into waste,
hardly the water is left to taste.

rapidly increased demands,
the world is in our hands.
water is need of the day,
'save water' all we say.

we have to be water wise,
'value of water' let's realise.
the pure water is very less,
none of the lake is now fresh.

water washes over my hand,
water slips away like sand.
water is man's best friend,
but can't survive till the end.

everything relies on water to stay alive,
without it nothing would survive.
